INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LOSS ADJUSTERS

In 2023, the IILA’s 54th Annual Meeting was held in Madrid, Spain where Emre Kokavci of Turkey was installed as President. This event was well received by its membership with attendees coming from four continents to enjoy the proceedings.
The IILA’s 2024 Mid-Term Meeting will be held on May 10, 2024 in conjunction with the NAIIA’s Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. The IILA’s 2024 Annual General Meeting will be held in Heraklion, Crete at the Abaton Island Resort & Spa from October 18th through October 22nd. SOCIETY OF REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ADJUSTERS

CANADIAN INDEPENDENT ADJUSTERS ASSOCIATION

With over 1,000 independent adjusters committed to the professionalism in 300 offices throughout Canada-the CIAA is hosting various education initiatives under the tutelage of its President, Maria Joshua. The organization will be hosting the Joint Atlantic Conference on May 29 – 31, 2024 at the Digby Pines Resort in Digby Nova Scotia. The CIAA will be hosting the Canadian Claim Summit which will be held on June 25, 2024 at the Marriot Toronto Airport Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

LOSS EXECUTIVES ASSOCIATION

The Loss Executives Association was founded over ninety years ago for the property loss professional and provides a forum for discussion, study and consideration of common loss adjustment problems to explore options and alternatives. It is the LEA’s belief that a better understanding of such problems is the ultimate goal of the educational process.
Regular membership is restricted to insurance company personnel while associate membership is granted for independent adjusters, attorneys with property defense legal firms, CPA’s, salvors, property oriented engineering firms and other service firms, which regularly provide technical services and advice to the property claims industry.
The LEA holds two meetings a year with its upcoming Spring Meeting and Educational Conference being held on June 5th through June 7th, 2024, at the Newport Marriot Hotel Newport, Rhode Island.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CLAIMS PROFESSIONALS

The 300 member group is populated by many carriers who rely on Independent Adjusters as their field adjuncts. The NAIIA has reciprocity with this organization with each association’s presidents attending each other’s annual conference.
The IACP’s upcoming New York Conference will be held at the University Club on June 20, 2024 and its Annual Meeting is slated to be held on September 29, 2024 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Orlando, Florida. CLAIMS & LITIGATION MANAGEMENT ALLIANCE

The CLM’s Annual Conference will be held in Dallas, (Grapevine) Texas from April 9–11, 2025. Registration for this event is scheduled to open in December 2024.
CLM continues with its revolving venues for their seminars in most major cities. The CLM’s Litigation Management Institute (LMI) certifies those who successfully complete a three day course. Another feature is the CLM’s “tracker” feature which provides a one stop repository for your records of CEU courses taken. In June 2018, the Institutes acquired CLM along with the Claims Pages with both of these organizations being operated as non-profits going forward, but will each be acting as independent entities of the parent company.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANIES

The NAMIC’s Annual Conference will be held from September 22nd through 25, 2024 in Denver Colorado. This three day event is a well-attended affair for smaller mutual companies, both domestic and their Canadian counterparts, along with their reinsurers. WHOLESALE SURPLUS INSURANCE ASSOCIATION (WSIA)

The NAPSLO and the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) organizations have merged and the combined entity is now known as the Wholesale Surplus Insurance Association (WSIA), the authoritative voice of the surplus lines industry for both domestic and Lloyd’s underwriters.
In addition to many structured educational offerings, WSIA is best known for its annual conference drawing internationally upwards of 4,000 attendees from the carrier, brokerage, Lloyd’s and MGA ranks where prearranged meetings with TPA’s and IA’s during this conference, provide opportunities for unbundled claim services. NAIIA firms also holding membership within this group are active on the “committee” level advancing the interests of the claim services.

The Institutes were founded in 1911 and have evolved into the industry’s most trusted and respected knowledge leader. The Institutes and its affiliates are committed to meeting the evolving professional development needs to the insurance and risk management communities. The Institutes have acquired the operations of CLM and its sister operation the Claim Pages which will be both operating as non-profits going forwarding, but will be operating independent of the Institutes.
