From the President, Cathy Hester: April 2022

In four short weeks, members, guests, and friends of NAIIA will be traveling to Tucson, AZ and the beautiful Marriott Starr Pass Resort for the NAIIA National Conference, our 85th. The first meeting of NAIIA was held April 16-17, 1937, 85 years ago. The purpose of the NAIIA 85 years ago, as established during that meeting, would be: 1) Exchange of ideas; 2) Annual meeting; 3) Establishment of the adjustment business on a high profession; 4) Improved insurance company communication; 5) Establishment of a recognized entity; 6) Protection of the “…. Adjustment Business form fly-by-night schemes.”; and 7) Creation of reliable directory of independent insurance adjusters. Our founding fathers would no doubt be proud of what this organization has accomplished in 85 years and continues to accomplish as we strive to be pillars of the insurance industry, communicating and networking to make the insurance industry a great place for all of us to work in.

PLRB Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo (April 3 – 6) in San Antonio was a great event and was well-attended, the first such event in two years, preempted by COVID. It was great seeing familiar faces and meeting new industry fellows. Thank you to all the NAIIA members who attended and helped pass out Blue Books and our new  x7 cards (included below). Believe me, we had no problem clocking 10,000 steps a day that week!I hope you all have a great conference.  There will be so much to offer in the way of education, networking, fellowship and just plain ole FUN!! We have offered up some suggestions on interesting area sites to visit below. Hopefully you will see a roadrunner (maybe being chased by a coyote) or a Javellina (similar to a wild boar), enjoy a sunset or just kick back and relax. This conference is certain to be a memorable experience and I very much look forward to seeing you all and welcoming you to Arizona as we Reconnect, Promote and Grow and reflect on 85 years of NAIIA greatness.
